How to Prepare
Quinoa must be cooked before consumption.
Two recommended methods:

❶ Boiling (like cooking rice):
➤ Rinse quinoa with clean water 1–2 times, just like rinsing rice
➤ Use a ratio of 1 cup quinoa : 4 cups water
➤ Cook over medium heat for 15–20 minutes
➤ Check doneness by pressing the grain—cooked quinoa should crush easily like cooked rice

❷ Steaming/Rice Cooking:
➤ Rinse quinoa with clean water 1–2 times
➤ Red quinoa has a firmer texture due to higher fiber content
➤ Use a ratio of 1 cup quinoa : 2 cups water
➤ Cook using the same setting as for white rice
➤ Let it sit in the rice cooker for 10 more minutes after cooking to soften the grains

Cooked quinoa will expand, become slightly translucent, and soften.
You can press it between your fingers like fully cooked rice.
